Hello. We are your hosts Dave and Dom. (Also known as Team DD. See what we did there?) Dom had the bright idea of driving across the country for an extended period of time, so we left our respective jobs, hopped in Dave's car, and headed west from Philadelphia.

What is Double-D America?
Double-D America is an interactive roadtrip across the continental United States. The Team DD car is outfitted with a computer that sends its position and a webcam picture to the Double-D America website. This means you can track us in realtime as we drive from state to state. It's just like you're riding shotgun, but without having to endure the highway hypnosis and our body odor.

We're going to share our pictures and videos with you as we make our way across this great nation. We'll also videoblog our experiences in the form of "carfessionals." (Almost) every night we will post a video individually which the other person won't get to see until the end of the trip. Think Road Rules without the commercials and hot girls. Sorry.

We wanted to share the experience because few people get the opportunity (or make the time) to roadtrip the country. That's it! It's just a ride, and you're invited to come along... via the internet.

Who is this Dave?
Dave is a computer scientist by trade, but lately he's been telling people he's a travel writer. His first love is travel with skiing and sushi tied for a close second.

His blog, the lunabomber manifesto, is on hiatus during the roadtrip, but it will resume after he returns.

And which one is Dom?
Well, Dom is the tall one.. And, he's white. Not so much white as tall, though. He's a scientist by trade, having spent 4 years working in various research labs manufacturing oddities that would make H.P. Lovecraft blush. He's got a bachelor's degree in Biology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.

Dom quit his job of 3 years with the Drexel University College of Medicine in order to go on this adventure, and he hopes that it wasn't the biggest mistake he's ever made. If worst comes to worst, he intends to suffocate Dave in the Grand Canyon, hock the Altima/carputer and live it up Tijuana.

Dom's hobbies occasionally include: comic books, backpacking, swimming and playing God in the lab. Dom's blog is dom's effusive meanderings, however it is sparsely updated.
